PREFACE
“He who teaches that all are good will bring about the end of the world.”
- Dostoevsky, “The Devils”.
Throughout my life, I have sought that magic formula that transforms people into beings who can live on their terms, beings who can create the world as they wish it to be. That formula that untaps the true magnificence of what it means to be human. The ingredient that removes the limitations of personal fear and self-doubt so that we can learn to live almost “magical’ lives.
In searching, I have found that one of the major secrets to understanding that magic is to appreciate what links us to Creation and all of it’s power. I have discovered that it is people with a strong sense of a spiritual aspect to their life, that are the masters of those lives. It is people who have the understanding that ‘magic’ is not what we do for ourselves but what we can do for others.
Many systems of psychology suggest that we do not see the world as it is but construct a model of it. We do this through filtering our experiences through our senses and interpreting them in the light of our beliefs and upbringing. Few beliefs are more potent than that which teaches us right from wrong and puts all the power of an omnipotent God behind it.
For many of us, religious beliefs have been organised and established through an institution, where the responsibility for one’s spirituality is left in the hands of that institution.
The present collapse of faith in these institutions leaves a void that has not yet been filled, but which for the first time in 2000 years, offers the freedom for people to explore their own personal sense of spirituality and their personal relationship with the life force we know as‘God’.
This collapse in religious institutions can offer great hope for our future, while at the same time filling many others with a sense of hopelessness, loss and uncertainty for the future and a lack of spiritual direction, leading to the growth of religious and material fundamentalism.
I have always believed that success in one’s life is dependent on a sense of individual spirituality and on personal searching, so this book is written to help those of us who want to understand this part of the magic of personal power - with all the responsibilities and freedoms that involves.
It is a primer for individuals seeking their own sense of meaning and purpose to the mysteries of life, in this new quantum age and all that it promises.
It is meant for those who wish to forge their lives and who are no longer content merely to wait for things to happen. It is meant for those who wish to be masters of all our future decisions and not merely victims of our past conditions. It is meant for those who want to embrace their power and their heritage as Noble Souls.
We are fortunate to live in wondrous times. A time of information and knowledge beyond the realms ever dreamed of by our forefathers. With the liberty to seek and assimilate suchinformation.
The opportunity to explore and ponder the vast boundaries of creation itself is open to us as the worlds of science, religion, philosophy and other intellectual pursuits converge on a single path.
This book is a part of that learning and of that great synthesis. It is also part of the great age of transition from the time of the Creator to that of the Creatrix, from the time of the masculine to that of the feminine. The two sides of the whole.
The book is in two parts. The first part of the book deliberately traces the origins and myths of the Western world’s dominant faith, Christianity, to help those of us of the traditional Western Christian faiths, to understand why we believe what we believe and then to use it, or reject it, in our search for spiritual growth.
The book clarifies Christianity’s spiritual origins so that we may decide our own path free of the concerns of past religious upbringing…..if we so choose.
One of those paths is what I like to call the path of a Noble Soul. This is a path of questioning in our search for self-enlightenment. This is a path of active choice about our actions and their consequences. This is a path of responsibility, of continuous learning and appreciation of the wonder of the world in which we live.
We who follow this path, as with all pioneers and seekers after mysteries, often must rebel against the established convention of our earlier education and society’s rules. We often must suffer the pain of the fall from beliefs which we may have once held as important and which may still be held as important by those of our loved ones around us.
Finally, this rebellion and its fall can lead us to true wisdom and the magic of personal transformation into a being which understands it’s place in Creation and plays it’s part to the full.
This path leads ultimately to the wisdom that there are many paths up the mountain, but one mountain. That there is but one Creator/rix, but many diverse paths through which the Creator/rix can be found.
The second part of the book will offer answers to many of our common questions about the nature of God, evil, life, death and the purpose of existence so that on our path to spiritual ‘enoblement’ we might be fortified by knowledge and sustained by wisdom.
In the search for optimum human potential, and thus the means by which we can consciously serve the Creator/rix by becoming a Noble Soul, it is impossible to ignore the importance of the spiritual - our ‘divine discontent’.
For me, it is the inner trigger that drives people, as Mazlow put it, to seek self-actualisation.
That driving need to evolve, to move on in our lives, to be all that we have the capability of being. To continually evolve to a higher level to move onward and upwards, by creating a “unified field theory” of spiritual belief, which can answer many questions.
This is where I hope this book will be of some service. It is an attempt to discuss the answers to questions which will help people choose their life paths instead of just being led blindlyinto uncertain futures.
The future need not be uncertain. That which we create is seldom uncertain.
Tread boldly and you will find that your dreams will sustain you. Chose the magic in life as it unfolds through The Way of the Noble Soul.
